Times of Dominican Republic is committed to providing fair, honest, and transparent news aggregation alongside a platform for independent voices and opinion. We are open to people across the political spectrum and believe in the power of informed debate.
News Aggregation Standards
All aggregated news content on TDR is summarized in our own original wording — we never republish full articles from external sources. Every aggregated piece includes: the original source name, publication date, language (Spanish or English), a direct link to the original article, and proper attribution. Short quoted excerpts (under 40 words) are clearly marked with quotation marks.
AI-Assisted Summarization
We use AI technology to assist in generating initial news summaries. All AI-generated summaries are reviewed by human editors before publication during normal operations. Our editors verify accuracy, ensure original wording, and check that summaries fairly represent the original reporting.
Opinion vs. News Distinction
We clearly distinguish between aggregated news reporting and opinion/op-ed content. All opinion pieces are labeled with a visible "Opinion" badge. This distinction is maintained throughout the platform — in article listings, individual pages, and category navigation.
Contributor Guidelines
We welcome op-ed and blog submissions from independent voices. All submissions must: be original work; avoid incitement to violence or hate speech; cite sources for factual claims; not plagiarize or infringe copyright. Our editorial team reviews all submissions and may approve, reject with feedback, or request revisions.
Bilingual Coverage
The Dominican Republic's official language is Spanish. We aggregate from both Spanish-language and English-language sources and label each source's language clearly. For English-speaking readers, we provide original English summaries of Spanish-language reporting and offer a built-in Google Translate tool for convenience.
Corrections and Updates
If we identify errors in our summaries or published content, we will issue corrections promptly and transparently. Readers can report concerns through our contact channels.
